Reem Kufi — Free Arabic Google Font
Reem Kufi draws on early Kufic (Mushafi) letterforms, refitted to the Fatimid Kufic grid and shaped by the 20th-century Kufic calligraphy of master Mohammed Abdul Qadir. Its unmistakably old-Kufic character makes it a strong pick for titles and display settings that want to read as historical or ceremonial.
About Reem Kufi
Reem Kufi was designed by Khaled Hosny, with a Latin component by Santiago Orozco, and added to Google Fonts in 2016. It is based on early Kufic (Mushafi) letterforms fitted to the Fatimid Kufic grid, and draws heavily on the work of Mohammed Abdul Qadir, the 20th-century master who revived Kufic and formalised its rules. Reem, meaning "white deer", is also the name of Hosny's daughter.
The most widely adopted modern Kufic webfont, Reem Kufi's clean geometric letterforms reduce well to a single bold wordmark — it's built across multiple weights, so it works for a short striking name as easily as a slightly longer headline.

How Reem Kufi compares
Noto Kufi Arabic is the neutral, modern take on Kufi; Reem Kufi is the one that looks deliberately old and historical. Compared with Katibeh, another headline face with traditional roots, Reem Kufi is angular and grid-based, where Katibeh follows the rounder Naskh and Thuluth hands. Choose Reem Kufi when the design should look rooted in early Islamic manuscripts rather than simply modern.
Tips for using Reem Kufi
Use Reem Kufi at large sizes for titles, decorative panels, logos and anything meant to feel historical or Islamic in tone. It is not built for paragraphs. Four weights, Regular to Bold, give some control over emphasis. Leave generous margins around a title so its geometric construction can be read clearly.
